We are now officially starting a new year and a new decade and I hope you are all excited.

For most of us there is something about starting a new year that brings up hope and possibility. Those who have had an excellent 2009 can be thankful for it and look ahead with optimism and those who have not can be thankful that it is over and look ahead with hope that things will be better.

Whatever we have had to deal with, however wonderful or difficult things may have been, looking ahead and wanting to make the New Year a successful one is a goal shared by all.

And what is success? One common definition is having an outcome we have planned and worked for, such as achieving a goal.

However, even if you did not achieve exactly what you wanted in 2009, if you were persistent, flexible and clear minded you succeeded in learning something important that you can apply in 2010. Success comes in many forms and is not only measured by how much money you make.

Success is the achievement or attainment of that which is desired, whatever that may be. It is not dreaming that things will happen and then waiting for your dreams to come true. It requires though...

Success has as much to do with how we conduct our lives as it does with material rewards. Most people we admire have qualities that connect them to us in their humanity.
