December 23, 2008 Keeping An Open Mind

Here we are again, ending one year as we begin another. 2009 is upon us and it is once again time to put things in perspective. We can take another opportunity to create new goals, dream new dreams and get inspired.

To become excited or even exhilarated about our lives creates a whole new attitude and set of possibilities that can drive us to new heights. 

To consider the poor choices we may have made, the events of the past that have caused us pain or even how outside influences may have nudged us away from our dreams is only useful if it informs us, not if we let it shape or determine our future.

Last month’s Newsletter was about How to Stay Positive in an environment of negativity. The idea that we can train ourselves to think and act constructively even in the face of hardship is not new. We can all agree that a good attitude begins in our heads.

There is an old expression I enjoy quoting which says, “The fish rots from the head down”.  The converse is also true; we flourish or thrive from the head down as well.
