Unless you’ve been asleep since March you can’t help but be aware that we are facing a big financial crisis. The media, at every opportunity, has been blasting us with the gloomiest of messages.

There is no escaping the news. Except for the presidential race and the amazing election of our first black president, truly an uplifting event, the news has been pretty dismal.

Now I’m not suggesting that we stick our heads in the sand and avoid reality. However there comes a point at which the news becomes overkill and we are almost crushed under its weight. The tendency to become depressed or pessimistic is amplified considerably when we allow so much negative information to invade our space and take hold.

It is a real challenge to stay positive, creative and strong when bombarded with such bleak information. On the other hand it is exactly at this time when we need to be positive, creative and strong. Our resolve is always being tested in difficult times.... Please read on

Staying Positive

The most important thing to know about staying positive is that it takes a conscious effort to maintain. There are strategies you can use and ways to train your mind to look forward and chart a better course.

People who win at this game realize that it is not just repeating some affirmations or smiling all the time that creates a positive mindset. They recognize that whatever the circumstances it is up to them to make the best of it. A positive attitude is created by the person who takes control over his thinking and his choices.

Stay away from Whiners: The quickest way to get brought down is to be in the company of negative-minded complainers.
