Mental Health Counselors and Life Coaches of the Aventura Stress Relief Center in Aventura and Davie, Florida
Attitude is the Key
The
following is a brief introduction of each of our mental
health counselors and life coaches.
Stan Hyman, LCSW
Founder/Director of the Aventura Stress Relief Center.
I am a licensed psychotherapist (Licensed
Clinical Social Worker) and life coach practicing in
Aventura, Florida. I originally practiced
in New York City before coming to Florida in 1990.
I regularly work with couples (including business partners) helping them to change
dysfunctional patterns of behavior, improve communication
and create solutions to problems and conflicts. This often requires learning
new strategies and creating new patterns of communication
between them for better understanding to take place.
I also work with individuals
(both male and female) including professionals, entrepreneurs,
students and athletes helping them to enhance their performance. I
specialize in the treatment of anxiety, depression, substance
abuse and stress related problems. I work quickly to reduce distress or panic.
My
style is focused and collaborative, helping clients
balance their high stress careers and high performance expectations.
I started my career as
a teacher and spent a number of years working with kids of all ages.
From teaching I entered the corporate world, working with large companies and
learning their methods of operation. I then became an entrepreneur
and began building my own businesses. I created and grew three companies
over a 20-year period and learned firsthand what it takes to deal
with the enormous stress of maintaining high performance, good leadership
and being your own boss.
After several years of self-exploration
in psychotherapy, I realized how my own experiences could guide
me in helping others. I became a psychotherapist and life coach
while continuing my interest in the business community.
I was trained at the
Yeshiva University Graduate School (Wurzweiler School of Social
Work) in New York City, and did my internship at the Greenwich Institute
for psychodynamic psychotherapy located in Greenwich Village in
New York City and the New York State Psychiatric Institute, located
in Washington Heights.
My professional credentials include:
post graduate institute training in individual and marital
therapy at the Institute for Marriage and Family Therapy
(Jewish Board of Family and Children Services in New York
City); certification in hypnosis (member of FSCH, Florida
Society of Clinical Hypnosis); level two training in EMDR;
professional member of ADAA (Anxiety Disorders Association
of America); many advanced workshops in individual and couples
therapy; years of training and working with substance abusers
(including work as a family therapist at the Broward Addictions
Recovery Centers); training in employee assistance work
for many large companies; and other types of workshops and
trainings related to my profession.
In addition to my psychotherapy
and coaching practice I offer seminars and workshops on stress management,
relationship building, public speaking and improving communication
skills for couples and business partners.

In addition to my private practice at Enlightened Healing, in Deerfield Beach, FL, I am also an adjunctive C.A.M. physician in the psychology/psychiatry practice of Therapeutic Life Concepts, in N. Miami.
Services Offered:
I use minimally invasive healing techniques (including acupuncture, Chinese herbal/homeopathic/nutritional supplementation, Qi Gong/energy work, dietary therapy, BioSET Allergy Desensitization Technique, muscle response testing and assessment) to cater a treatment protocol specific to your individual needs. Because TCM is a medicine of mind, body, and spirit, that addresses the whole being, and treats core or root level imbalances, the benefits of care are not just limited to alleviation of your immediate complaint. Patients in care often report greater sense of ease and tranquility, increased energy levels, sounder sleep, and improved outlook on life.
I have helped many people facing a variety of health challenges. These include, but are not limited to:
Cardiovascular: High Blood Pressure/Cholesterol, Poor Circulation...
A complete treatment protocol usually offers dietary and lifestyle counseling to maximize your treatment benefits, and provide maintenance and prevention beyond the acute phases of care.
